The White Rose of Peace Walk for 2026, now in its fifth year, will take place on Sunday, 6 September. People all over the world are invited to participate in walking together, in unity, for the purpose of promoting peace across the world.

Wherever you happen to be on the day, your participation is both valued and welcome. Choose to walk on any route that is safe and convenient, carrying a white rose to convey and symbolise the message that Ireland Will Lead Peace for a Better Humanity.

Participants may then get in touch with the organisers, with photographs, details of the journey travelled and the distance that has been walked. A Facebook group has been set up for this purpose. The cumulative total of all those kilometres walked will be tabulated, with the goal of achieving an overall distance of 3171 km, the approximate length of the entire coastline of Ireland.

The White Rose of Peace Walk is an initiative sparked and spearheaded by Verona Pentony, author, writer, poet, songwriter, missionary of peace. Verona’s approach, her mission’s aims and objectives, are outlined through her motto of healing your heart through forgiveness.

"I believe that peace is possible for each individual in the world, as it lies within each heart. Join hands in unity and let’s make World Peace together."

As author, she has previously been published through two volumes of poetry – the Reflections series – available to buy online. As songwriter, her debut single, A Song for Forgiveness, has been released through her label, Music for World Peace Records.
