News | New Books and Titles | An Angel's Sunrise by Patrick Gately
– most recent collection of poetry and verse from the author, poet, musician –
The invisible forces and those whispering guides that channel and direct our respective journeys through life are among the themes that form the focus in Patrick Gately’s latest collection, An Angel’s Sunrise.
Reflections on life and the reasons for living are among the themes and concerns. These vary from person to person. If you were to ask a hundred people the same question, you would probably get a hundred different answers on the topic.
For many people who pass through life, their purpose seems to consist, in varying degrees, of accumulating wealth, raising a family, being involved in various activities, hobbies, pastimes, any of the thousands of preoccupations that keep us amused.
“I am not saying that these things are wrong. They just need to be put into perspective because at the end of life, we cannot bring any of these things with us.”
The hardships to be endured, where we are going and where we have come from, the lessons that have been learnt in how to weather the storm, the reasons why we have come to dwell on this earth; such are among questions that arise and are explored in all of nature’s splendour, detail, glory.
“As an Eckist, I now realise that we all travel the road back to God at our own pace. Sometimes we may stray off the road, for various reasons but eventually, we get back on track and proceed onwards. Soul is eternal; only the body dies and decays.”
This suggestion may lead to the view that even though we have need for material things, it is the inner self (soul) that is most important. This inner self and the material world should blend together, making the road and the reasons for living so much easier.
