The Manuscript Publisher would like to extend warmest seasons greetings to all of our customers, colleagues, friends, well-wishers, everyone who has been with us and part of our story over the last twelve months.
2012 was a year in which we achieved more than we could possibly have hoped for when we opened for business the previous autumn. We had the opportunity to work with dozens of authors, writers, independent publishers, from Ireland and further afield, producing along the way a total of six new print titles (available to buy from our online catalogue), seven new e-book editions (on sale throughout the Christmas period on Amazon and Smashwords), among other projects and works in progress.
None of this would have happened without the hard work and effort of everyone involved. It is this dedication that means we can now look forward to even more successes in 2013; along with further great strides in our mission to make publishing in the modern era, professional, affordable and open to all.
Look out for two new titles in the New Year, both of which are by debut authors.
The Echo of a Troubled Soul is an uplifting tale by Joy C. Agwu. Set in modern-day Nigeria, it tells a story of redemption on the journey to recovery; how the small gestures that we make impact on other people's lives, in ways that are not always foreseen. Expect to hear a lot more in the future from this promising author.Charting Your Life’s Roadmap in an Uncertain World: Choose Happiness Daily by Nuala Duignan is another uplifting and life affirming book, albeit for somewhat different reasons. Nuala has been engaged professionally as a Life Coach for a number of years now. In this book she shares the benefit of her insight and experience. It is already on sale in some shops and will be widely available in the New Year - including from our Online Bookshop.
2013 will also see the inaugural, Irish Edition of the Directory of Writing and Publishing Resources, offering invaluable advice about writing and publishing in the age of digital. The Directory will also include comprehensive and up-to-date listings of publishing services and resources available to authors and writers, both online and offline. Submissions are now being accepted with a view to inclusion in the Directory. We look forward to hearing from writing groups, literary organisations, journals, competitions, arts and literary festivals, libraries, bookshops, book distributors, publishers, literary agents, printers, newspapers, media outlets, bloggers, editors, designers, author service providers and anyone involved with writing, literary, publishing enterprises, groups or social circles.
The closing date for submissions, if you wish to be included in the published directory, is 31st March, 2013. Submissions received after that date may still be considered for inclusion in future editions as well as our regularly updated online directory.
Writing for Publishing is another initiative that we launched in 2012. It is aimed at authors interested in writing for a public audience, perhaps with a view to getting published, maybe earning a living from writing and/or publishing. We are pleased to announce that a series of courses will take place in 2013, at venues throughout the country but starting in Roscommon in March/April. While dates and times have yet to be confirmed, expressions of interest from individuals and groups are now being accepted. For more information please visit the Writing for Publishing website.

It remains for us to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
