White Rose of Peace Walk 2025

– That Ireland Will Lead Peace for a Better Humanity –

The White Rose of Peace Walk 2025, now in its fourth year, is taking place this coming Sunday, 7 September. People everywhere are being invited to participate in a walk together in unity for world peace. Choose to walk on any route that is safe and convenient, carrying a white rose to symbolise the hopes and aspirations of the event, and to affirm the central message that 'Ireland will lead peace for a better humanity'.

Among the programme of events is a gathering at the Papal Cross in Dublin’s Phoenix Park, starting at 2pm. Doves of peace will be released and those in attendance will be invited to share in conversation, contemplation, relaxation, poetry recitals, maybe even a song.

Participants can then get in touch with the organisers via a Facebook group that has been set up for this purpose, with photographs, details of the journey travelled and the distance that has been walked. The cumulative total of all those kilometres walked will be tabulated, with the goal of achieving an overall distance of 3171 km, the approximate length of the entire coastline of Ireland.

The White Rose of Peace Walk is an initiative sparked and spearheaded by Verona Pentony, poet, songwriter, Missionary of Peace. She is the previously published author of two volumes of poetry – the Reflections series – available to buy online. Her debut single, A Song for Forgiveness, has been released through her label, Music for World Peace Records.
