Drawing Day is a worldwide celebration that falls annually on 16 May. Anyone who has ever wished that they could draw – be it a portrait, a landscape or even just a straight line – will find no better incentive over the coming weekend to take up the challenge and put skills to the test.

World Drawing Day is a commemoration that has been observed annually since 2008. People from all backgrounds and walks of life are encouraged to come together and celebrate the art of drawing.
The National Gallery of Ireland, to take just one example, is organising a programme of events to take place on Saturday, 17 May at various locations. Similar such events and gatherings are occuring in countries across the world.
